Champagne glasses are increasingly becoming popular for some special occasions. For instance, in the event that you want to use them for your wedding party or some other important dinner, you will definitely like the excitement and value they will add to the occasion. It is also important to state that they can appear expensive if certain things are not put into consideration when purchasing them.

What is fundamental is that irrespective of the type chosen, they will most likely serve the purpose you want. It is also worth knowing that when the expected guests is small and doesn’t require bulk purchase, you should then prepare to pay a bit more as they are usually priced per each glass. There are many places one can get cheap champagne glasses to buy.

Apart from the glassware out there, you will also likely have one at a liquor shop near you. A cigar glass humidor is actually very similar to other kinds of humidors except for the glass top that is installed on it. The size of the cigar humidor varies. If you are not keeping a large number of cigars, you can get a glass topped humidor that can hold anywhere from 25 to 50 cigars. But if you like having plenty of cigars around, there are glass humidors that can hold up to 150 cigars, which would be appropriate for you.

A good cigar glass humidorshould be made from high quality wood that has been finished nicely. It should fit perfectly to form a tight seal and it should have some locks installed, to prevent people from getting too curious with it. To ensure that you are able to use the humidor properly, choose a model that comes with an instruction manual.

This will allow you to know the right method of using it as well as how to maintain it properly. The manual should be written in a clear and concise language so that you will understand what the manufacturer wants to convey perfectly.

If you want to customize yourglass cigar humidor, choose a model that comes with a brass plate. This can be engraved with your name or any text of your choosing.
If you are a heavy smoker or you want plenty of cigars in stock to entertain guests, you would naturally choose a humidor that can hold up to 150 cigars. When choosing this kind of humidor, precise organization is the key.

Aside from the tempered glass installed on its top, a humidor meant for holding large number of cigars should have drawers for easy access and organization. It should also have drawer handles installed as well drawer bottoms that are lined with felt.

The cigar glass humidor should also be made from scratch proof material to maintain its beauty and appeal for a long time.

Wine is a billion dollar industry. In our modern culture, this means it has come into the sights of the huge, mega market stores that we all visit to buy 400 rolls of toilet paper and 10 pound jars of peanut butter. The question addressed in this article is whether you should buy at the big stores or the little, specialty versions?

Modern society is all about convenience. The fact there are now cars that will back up and parallel park for you should both tell prove that and be embarrassing! Regardless, the mega store has become the hub for most of our shopping. These stores now carry everything from lawn furniture to food to cars and, yes, wine. Well, not just wine. They carry wine in volume. You don’t buy a bottle. You buy half of that year’s production! Ah, but should you?

There are definite advantages to buying wine at the large mega stores. Chief among them is the simple fact that by buying in volume, you save some serious money. There are, however, downsides. The first is there is no one to discuss the merits of the wines being offered with. The second is there usually isn’t a lot of choice. A wine shop might offer a couple thousand choices. A mega store might offer 20 or 30. At most!

The wine specialty shop is an entirely different world. In contrast to the mega store, the specialty shop is usually owned and manned by a big time wine lover. They can tell you anything you want to know [and more] about the wines they have on offer, the vines they came from and so on. These shops tend to have a few cheaper wines, but many more expensive versions.

There are numerous advantages to buying wine from specialty shops. First and foremost is the fact you will get answers to your questions. Second, you can obtain some truly fine vintages. If you continue to go to the store, they will develop a feel for your preferences and make recommendations for you and even order in special selections just for you. It is a great way to discover some amazing wines!

So, which is better? Each has its place. I generally approach my wine purchases using the following strategy. I buy “every day” wine from the mega stores. I then buy specific bottles for storing and special occasions from the specialty shops. It is somewhat akin to having both a pickup truck and Ferrari in the garage. You drive the pickup truck all the time, but it is nice to pull out the Ferrari every so often.

Buying wine can be a tricky proposition for many of us. In this article, we take a look at a basic checklist of subjects that need to be considered when determining if a bottle is worth your hard earned money.

Importantly, this article is not about the merits of a particular wine. Instead, we are focusing just on what to consider when standing in a shop and looking at various bottles of wine. Obviously, you can’t tell if a wine is good or bad per se while just standing there, but you can determine if there might be a problem with the way the winery packaged the bottles or the store treats them.

The first thing to consider is temperature. Wine usually sits out on the shelves or racks in a store. Wine needs to be stored in a cool environment. I’ve been in a few places selling wine that were uncomfortably warm. Wine will go bad under such circumstances and you should strongly consider finding another location that keeps the temperature down.

The needs of wine contrast with the marketing needs of a shop. Wine is best when it is not exposed to light. Wine shops need to put wine on display if they hope to sell it. This catch-22 has led to situations where I’ve actually seen stores place wine in the long, tall windows that run down the sides of the place. Ah, wine boiling in the sun. I bet that is going to taste bad!

Assuming you’ve found a decent wine shop [most are], it is time to take a look at the bottle. Modern wine production has eliminated most of the issues that used to arise, but two still need to be considered. First, check the cork. It should be flush with the top of the bottle. If it is noticeably sunk into the bottle, it could be a sign of a leak which could make the wine go bad over time. Obviously, avoid such bottles. The other issue is cloudiness. Hold the bottle up and look through it. The only wine that should show any cloudiness is an older red. Anything else needs to be avoided!

Buying wine was much more of an art 20 years ago. Production values have risen dramatically during that time, so the only real issues that arise have to do with the quality of the store selling the wine. As long as the wine is out of the light and temperatures are cool, you should be okay.

Whether you have made your decision on your own or someone close to you influenced you to smoke cigar, then let me just welcome you into the world of cigars! Before I started out as a cigar enthusiast, a close friend of mine showed me how to become one.

As a beginner, it is very important that your find the right cigar for you. Aside from the fact that cigars are much more expensive than that of a regular cigarette, you also need to like the taste of it. It is like tasting for the very first time. In cigar smoking taste is everything. You’ll know that the cigar is cheap because you won’t be able to enjoy it, but I am not also saying that you won’t get a good cigar for a reasonable price.

For beginners, I recommend you try the mild cigars. You have to remember that cigars are an acquired taste, developed over the years. Using a mild cigar introduces your taste buds to these unique flavours. Some of these mild brands that recommend are the Montecristo, Rocky Patel, Macamundo, Nat Sherman. You will surely find these brands less expensive and excellent.

Cigar purchasing is a personal choice; some of my friends would only buy their cigars from a cigar shop. But cigar shops will charge a premium for every stick. They have a lot of charges that are then passed on to the buyers. But walking in to a cigar shop gets you the opportunity to smell and touch the merchandise.

But buying your cigar online is cost effective since online stores usually have vast inventory and their prices are very competitive. Some of these retailers will ship your orders quickly and also securely. Good reputation form their customers is very important to retain in this business.

Other great way to buy cigars is online auction. Most of the time, online auctions lets you purchase cigars at a much cheaper price. But let me just remind you that because of the adrenaline rush to get a better price, but if you’re not careful you could wind up paying more than the retail price.

In order to enjoy cigar at its best, you have to enjoy this small adventure. Cigar industry is fast growing industry along with this opportunity are the benefits. You can also explore other fan sites for cigar enthusiasts around the world via the internet. You will surely find a lot passionate cigar user who is very much willing to help you out. Need to buy cigars for Wednesday’s poker game at Dave’s house? Are you looking for a new hobby and have decided that you want to start smoking cigars? Well, you can buy or smoke any cigars you want – of course, except for Cuban cigars if you live in the US – but there a number of things you should know before you buy a cigar. This is especially for people who are new at smoking cigars.

For Starters: If you are new to cigars, it is a good idea to start with smaller cigar sizes such as a Corona or a Petit Corona. You need to develop a taste for them before you take on one of the larger ones such as a Churchill. Cigar flavors are varied such as claro (mild), colorado (moderate), maduro and oscuro (very rich). A beginner should start with a milder flavor such as a claro (or a colorado at the very most) because the maduro or oscuro are usually too strong for a novice. One way to tell the flavor of a cigar is to look at the wrapper. Lighter flavors have lighter wrappers and vice versa.

Make Sure They are Fresh: Inspect cigars properly before buying them. Look at the color of all the cigars in the box; they should all be the same and if some of them are discolored, it a sign that they may not be fresh. Pinch the cigars between your fingers, they should be tender. If they are hard then it is another sign that they are not fresh.

Try Some Before You Buy the Whole Box: Do not rush into buying an entire box of cigars because you like the way they look or smell, or because you like the box they come in. It is a good idea to buy at least three (3) of them at first to know how they really taste. The region where a cigar is made affects its taste. For example, cigars made in Nicaragua differ greatly from those made in Honduras.

Learn Cigar Smoking Etiquette: There are many things that a newbie to smoking cigars might do that shows him or her as just that. These include actions like holding a cigar between the index and middle fingers when dragging or asking for a light from someone (like you do for cigarettes). Both of these actions are negatives according to the prescripts of smoking cigars. Cigar etiquette also includes rules like smoking slowly and not chewing on the cigar. There are a lot more than have been mentioned here.

Buy a Humidor: For cigars to be truly enjoyed, they have to stay fresh and should not be allowed to dry. For this reason they must be stored at a certain temperature and humidity. This you can achieve using a humidor. Humidors come in different sizes and can be as large as a room (used by cigar stores) but what you need is a personal or travel humidor which are boxes that can contain anywhere from 10 to more than 100 cigars. They are equipped with hygrometers for monitoring the humidity levels. Travel humidors are portable while personal humidors are usually kept at home such as in a study. If you cannot obtain that, then a simple airtight bag with a piece of wet foam inside it can serve.

Use the Right Lighter and Cutter: Always try to light your cigars with a wooden match. Do not use wax matches or Zippo lighters to light a cigar. They give a chemical taste to the cigar that negatively affects the smoking experience. Whatever you use, allow it to burn for a while before you bring it close to the tip of the cigar especially if it is a lighter. As for cutters, it is best to use a double-blade guillotine cutter because it gives the cleanest cut. Always keep the cutter sharp.

The Size of the Cigar Matters: When it comes to cigars, size does matter. Longer cigars are just that and therefore, take longer to finish which means you get to enjoy your smoke for a considerable while. Wider and longer cigars usually have cool smoke as it takes longer for the smoke to reach your mouth. And of course, it looks manlier when you smoke a large cigar.

Beware of Fake Cuban Cigars: We have all heard about those magical and life-changing cigars from Cuba: Cohibas, Montecristos, H. Upmanns, and the rest of the lot. First of all, remember that they are illegal in the United States and if you are caught in possession of them that could mean a substantial fine. However, if you do feel that you must experience that true smoke then you must be aware that most of the Cuban cigars you will be offered will be imitations. True Cuban cigars will not come cheap because it does take a lot of risk to get them into the US and well, for all their fame they ought to be expensive.

Cigars Can Also Adversely Affect Your Health: Most people consider that since cigar smoke is not to be inhaled it carries less risk of cancer. Whilst it is true that smoking cigars makes it less likely that you may develop lung cancer when compared to cigarette smokers, you are more likely to have lung cancer than non-smokers. Cigars predispose the smoker to lip, mouth and throat cancers just like cigarettes do. They are also as addictive as cigarettes because in truth, they contain even more nicotine.

Choosing the Right Cigar:  Enjoying cigars is like tasting beer for the first time.  Taste is everything and if the product is cheap, you won’t enjoy it.  That is not to say that you cannot find good cigars at a reasonable price.  As a beginner, I recommend looking for a mild cigar to begin with.  A mild cigar will allow you to introduce your taste buds to the unique flavors in a cigar.  Some mild brands I recommend are Macanudo, Montecristo, Nat Sherman, CAO Gold, Rocky Patel Connecticut and Romeo y Julieta Reserva.  You will find all of these brands to be excellent and not too hard on the wallet.

Buying Cigars:  Purchasing cigars is a personal choice.  I have a friend who only buys from cigar shops.  He wants to have the immediate pleasure of having his cigars in hand.  However, cigar shops will charge you a premium for those cigars.  They have storage, rent, inventory, and basic overhead and those charges will be passed on to you.  With that said, there is something about having the opportunity to walk into a cigar store, actually smell, and touch the merchandise.

Online Buying:  I find that purchasing cigars through online stores is a more cost effective way to buy.  The online stores inventory is usually vast and their prices can be competitive.  Most online retailers will ship your order quickly and securely.  Their good reputation with customers is important for them to retain.

Online Auctions:  Another great way to buy cigars is through an online auction.  Many times, online auctions allow you to purchase cigars at a much reduced price.  I caution you though, know your prices before bidding.  The adrenaline rush of bidding on cigars can get the better of you.  If you’re not careful you could end up paying more than retail.

Remember to enjoy this adventure.  The cigar industry is continually growing, and with it, the opportunity to benefit from it.  Explore the many fan sites for cigars on the internet.  You will find that many cigar fans love to share their passion for cigars and are more than willing to lend a hand.

Another important thing to consider when buying a cigar is to consider the tobacco level.
