The CAO Black is the original CAO blend that put the brand on the map and led to the overwhelming success of CAO cigars today. Only available at Cigar.com and a small number of retailers worldwide, these cigars are often difficult to find.
When Cano Ozinger transitioned from pipe maker to cigar manufacturer, he had no idea how big his cigar business was about to become. In fact, today an overwhelming majority of their business is in cigars. They have developed some of the most unique cigar concepts and have utilized state of the art packaging and high-grade tobacco to put CAO on the map as one of the fastest growing manufacturers in the world with distribution inside and outside the US.
CAO Black is a rare find. The first regular blend ever made by CAO, it is only available at a handful of select retailers. It is the blend that made them famous and is still highly regarded today. In 2005 it received a perfect 10 out of 10 rating from Cigar Buyer Magazine. Each box of CAO Black is individually numbered making it a collector”s item in and of itself. The cigars are medium-bodied with a soft and dry finish and are only being made in limited supply. Don’t miss your chance to try a piece of cigar history.
Having smoked 4 so far at different points of aging (mind you, not that long), I can generalize the Bengal as this: The spice becomes much more noticed with age (not stronger, just more noticeable), and this observation is only after a few months in my humi. Earthy/ Root-y, yet not bitter nor stenchful, with a sweet honey-and-nuts undertone. Smooth draw, though others in the series are smoother. The potency and flavours are more “maduro- like” than “natural” to me, but then I prefer a double-maduro… – aphio-igor

I was very impressed with this cigar. The first puff straight blew me away. The draw is excellent and it has a very good smooth flavor and a great smell. I recommend at least picking up a single. Nice! – Rob

Got 5 of these to try for free, which automatically makes them a great smoke!! Seriously though, I smoked one right away and found it to be really nice. Excellent draw with an even burn and good ash. Very smooth with a creaminess and a hint of nuts – but not bitter. I just ordered a box as a birthday gift to myself. – Lance – USMC (Ret)
Rated 91. Creamy brown, silky wrapper. Very attractive cigar. Pre-light flavors of cedar and light tobacco. Excellent construction with cedar, earthy aromas and some notes of honey. Salty on the palate but well balanced. Spice present through the nose and on the finish. Attractive cigar in a very classic size. Medium to full flavored and bodied with a delicious, long finish. – Cigar.com, November 2006 (TN)
An excellent medium bodied cigar, especially for the price. – boosdad1959
This cigar is by far the most pleasant I have had in a good long time. It is consistent in its delivery of spice and subtle sweetness. If you’re a chewer you’ll be in chomp heaven! – cynthia d. pape

I’ve never been dissapointed by CAO.
CAO Brazilia is a great “go to” cigar in my opinion. CAO generally makes an excellent quality product, especially for the price.
I agree with you 100% nothing but Cuban from now on. I’ve tried many non Cubans including the Brazilia and hated them all!
His name should be CHIEF TWOCANPUFFEM because a great cigar should be enjoyed in the company of freinds.
Each CAO cigar gets the pressure test at the factory as well – that ensures a great draw.
or chief-long-ash. get it?
i would christen that injun, chief-little-leaf.
you’re a funny guy!! what do you mean, what do i mean? i just meant you were funny, ya know funny. funny like haha-funny. please, put the gun down. c’mon, kris!! no, no…aaaaahah!!!!
hey filmdude, I think thats exactly what it is. cigars are like wine and sushi, the first couple of times you try them you hane’nt aquired a taste for them. I recommend you you have a nice steak dinner and try these three cigars after so you can taste the difference. C.A.O L’anni. cameroon belicoso, Cabaquan belicoso and a Padron anniversario exclusivo natural. all three of these cigars have light wrappers but all three will each in their own right give different taste.
call im vito in honor of the godfather
the brazilia isnt brazilian tobacco, just the wrapper
I’m relatively new to cigars myself. I’m glad I ran across these reviews. Kris go beyeond the nose in the air BS of most reviews. In the end it boils down to what you like and don’t like. I just smoked the CAO Brazilia it was nice. A little spicy for my taste, but I like the cocoa nuttiness of it. Nice draw and burn. It’s something different. I also smoked my first Padron this week. Which is a hard act to follow … so I know this may have affected now I feel about the CAO Brazilia.
You will never know a really good cigar unitil you smoke a REAL Cuban cigar MADE in Cuba. Trust me no other cigar in the world is similar to the Cuban cigar..
Cigar of the week is like flavor of the week…cuban cigars are the flavor of the YEAR!
I wish that you were my cigar man! I go to J & R in new York and New Jersey but they are so uptight and not very friendly nor informative…I have started smoking cigars on youtube as Starrtraveler but also the videos of BLUETWAIN.are about me…if I smoked your cigars I would write about them and recommend them! Your intro is welcoming! Good Luck!
Thank-you! I thought you forgot about us down here in the Amazon haha. good to see you like Brazilian tobacco. I look forward to watch your next vids
hey Kris, has anyone come up with a name for your Indian chief? How abt Tokie? haha
I started right when I turned 18 as well, so I know where you’re at. For me, I smoked cheap crap for a quite a while at first (small macanudos and other things that were behind the counter at Osco, not even kept in a humidor), so when I got turned on to nicer cigars, the improvement was very obvious, and I got hooked. I personally like smooth, creamy mild-medium bodied cigars, particularly Gurkha, AVO, and CAOs. It just takes time to figure out what you like.
Hey, Im new to the cigar smoking industry and I have tried many different brands such as Rocky Patel, CAO, Partagas Black, Acid, Cojimar, Don Thomas, Arturo Fuente, and a few others. I just turned 18 a while back so I’m just starting out. Every cigar pretty much tastes the same to me. Am I just not used to smoke yet? I can’t really differentiate between cigar tastes.
Please help!
